CUERO Y SALADO

Cuero y Salado Wild life refuge is located next to La Ceiba on the sunny Caribbean coast. The area forms a triangle encompassed by the Cuero and Salado rivers, it’s composed of a complex series of salt water and fresh water wetlands. Fifteen river basins originating from the beautiful "Nombre de Dios Mountain". It also protects a great quantity of animal species, among them the manatee.

A visit to this beautiful vegetation and animal sanctuary is something that the tourist can’t miss. The trip is really exhilarating because any animal can show up just about anywhere. You’ll enjoy this opportunity to delve deep into the jungle and experience a close encounter with all sort of endangered species.

It has an information center that gives the tourist a brief explanation about the area and it´s wildlife, it has exhibiting murals and also a room equip for visiting technical and scientific personnel.
